Loss History Report

IDOI expects property and casualty carriers to cooperate in providing loss history reports (loss runs) to insureds.;

The Indiana Insurance Commissioner, John J. Dillon III, issued a Bulletin 56 dated 7/14/89 that expects property and casualty carriers to cooperate in providing loss history reports (loss runs) to insureds.

Here are the minimum requirements for the carriers stated in the bulletin:
      • insured's premium exceeds $2500 per year
      • loss report provided within 30 days of request
      • loss report current within 30 days
      • loss reports available for 3 years after policy expiration

For assigned risk employers, the year 2000 Servicing Carrier Performance Standards, part E.9.f., state that the servicing carrier will provide a loss run (loss records) within 30 days of request to the employer and agent of record.

The proposed 2008 Servicing Carrier Performance Standards 2.A.1.c., state that the servicing carrier will provide a loss run (loss records) within 20 days of request to the employer.
